Who we are
United Sports Cricket Club (USCC), Peterborough runs this website at usccpeterborough.com. If you have any questions about this policy, or about information we hold about you, email us at usccpeterborough@gmail.com.
What we collect
We only collect the information you give us, and the record of what you do with the club.
- Your club account – when you sign up we ask for your name, date of birth, email address, telephone number, postal address, and the name and number of your next of kin in an emergency. If you take out a student membership we also ask you to send a photograph of your NUS or student ID card.
- Your involvement with the club – the availability you give for matches and nets, the sides you are picked for, what you owe the club and what you have paid, and your batting and bowling record.
- Event registrations – your name, contact number, email address, the size of your party and anything else the form asks for, such as whether you would like to perform at the event.
- Club Store orders – your name, contact details, whether you want collection or postage, and any personalisation you ask for.
We never ask for, see or store card details. All payments are handled by our payment provider, Stripe.
Why we hold it
We hold your details for the club’s insurance purposes, for administering the club, and for your involvement in club activities: picking sides, letting you know when and where to turn up, keeping your fees straight, and reaching somebody if you are hurt at a game.
Who sees it
- The committee. The officers of the club and the members of its sub-committees see what they need for the jobs they hold – the treasurer sees what you owe, the selection committee sees your availability.
- Our club sponsors. Your details may be shared with the club sponsors, who support the club financially.
- The league. If you play, your name and your match statistics appear on Play-Cricket, the league’s own public system, as they do for every player in the league.
- The people who run the website for us. Our hosting company, our payment provider Stripe, and the club’s own Google account, which is where our email is sent from and where registrations from some event forms are copied.
Nothing you give us is published on the website beyond what any club member would expect to see – a squad list, a scorecard, the club’s own member list – and we do not sell your details or pass them to anyone else outside the club.
Your student ID card
If you send us a student ID card, it is stored under a name nobody could guess, it is not added to the website’s picture library, and only the committee can open it. We keep it while your student membership runs, so we can show that the reduced rate was properly given, and delete it afterwards.
Your account and your calendar
Signing in is by email address and a password you choose; we never see your password. If you add the club calendar to your phone, that calendar link is private to you – anybody who has the link can see your fixtures, so please do not pass it on.
Address lookup
Where a form asks for a postal address, we use a third-party postcode lookup service to help you find yours. The postcode you type is sent to that service so it can return matching addresses.
Cookies
This site uses only the cookies it needs to work – keeping you signed in and remembering the contents of your basket during checkout, for example. We do not use advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your account for as long as you are a member of the club. Fee and order records are kept for as long as the club’s accounts require. Event registrations are kept for the season they relate to and afterwards for the club’s records. Match statistics are part of the club’s history and are kept.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can change most of it yourself in your account. Email usccpeterborough@gmail.com and we will deal with your request. If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
